2. What personal data do we collect and how?

Essentials: The personal data we collect comes directly from you, from our partners or affiliates, and from cookies or similar technologies. We normally only collect and use basic information such as your contact details (name, email, etc.), communication with you (by phone, chat, etc.), information about your interaction with our marketing initiatives, websites and products, as well as your interests and preferences.

The personal data we collect varies depending on our relationship with you, the purpose of the data collection, and the product or service we provide you. Please see the section(s) below that best describes our relationship with you for more details on the personal data we collect.

We may collect your personal data directly from you.

The area of expertise in which you carry out your activity, your professional activities and skills, as well as professional details such as data related to your educational/professional history;
Information you provide related to the event (such as visit forms, opinion surveys, event recordings or interviews and event photographs, as well as content you submit as part of the event, e.g. if you ask a question, and your travel and accommodation details); and
Any information about dietary preferences that you provide us (when applicable).

People we interact with in the course of business who do not fall into any of the above categories (except suppliers)

When Danone interacts with you in your capacity as an external stakeholder who does not belong to any of the above categories, such as when you are a representative of one of our clients, an industry agent or a company in the sector, a scientist, a healthcare professional, an academic, a representative of a consumer or non-governmental organization, a politician, a public policy maker, a regulator, an investor, an extra-financial rating agency, a journalist, a representative of an industry chamber, etc., we, or third parties on our behalf, may collect and use information about you:

Professional contact data, such as your title, name, email address, home address, phone number(s), social media handles and communication language;
Details of your employment (job title, organization, any other role you may hold) and/or political party affiliation (only when you have made it public);
The area of expertise in which you carry out your activity, your professional skills and activities, as well as professional details such as data related to your educational/professional history; and
Any other information you provide us during our interactions with you.

If you are or act on behalf of a Danone supplier, this Privacy Notice does not apply to you. The applicable Privacy Policy or Notice will be made available to you separately.

People whose personal data we collect indirectly

We may also collect your personal data from other sources when:

You search for our products and services, and when you share content on social media, websites or applications related to our products or in response to our promotional material on social media;
We collect your personal data from other public sources (e.g. comments on websites other than ours) that mention Danone or any of its brands. We may also collect publicly available personal data in your capacity as a public figure for business purposes;
Your personal data is provided to us by a media provider and retailer, such as your purchase history and your loyalty card profile; and
Your profile or interest data is provided to us by a third party (e.g. media providers, marketing technologies or advertising technology solutions), such as your demographic data (e.g. age, parental status), your location, your interests and purchase intentions. Special categories of data

In principle, Danone does not seek to process your sensitive personal data. However, some of the personal data we collect about you or that you provide us may be special categories of data, often related to health and wellness.

We will only process this type of data for the purpose for which you have given your express consent, or in any other circumstance permitted by law (such as the defense of legal claims).

3. The purpose and legal basis for the collection and use of personal data

Essentials: Your personal data is collected and used for purposes such as fulfilling our agreement with you (e.g. processing orders and payments), responding to your inquiries, personalizing your experience with our services and marketing our products and services (e.g. creating customer profiles, evaluating the effectiveness of marketing campaigns), improving our products, services and processes, and complying with legal obligations or defending our rights. The reason we process your personal data depends on the specific purpose, but may be based on our agreement with you, Danone's legitimate interests (see details in the explanation), or Danone's own legal obligations.

We consider that the legal bases for the use of your personal data, as set out in this Privacy Notice, are as follows:

Contractual necessity: our use of your personal data is necessary to fulfill our obligations under any contract with you or to take steps prior to entering into a contract with you.
Compliance with legal obligations: our use of your personal data is necessary to comply with our legal obligations.

We may analyze information about you to create profiles (e.g. by grouping individuals into groups we believe share certain common characteristics). 6. Social media and other user-generated content

Essentials: When you post content on our websites or social media, it may be seen and shared by the public. Be cautious when sharing your personal data online.

Some of our websites and applications allow users to submit their own content. Remember that any content submitted on our product/brand pages on social media platforms may be seen by the public and reposted, and you should be cautious about providing certain personal data, such as financial information or home address details. We are not responsible for any action taken by other people if you post personal data on one of our product/brand social media platforms. We reserve the right to remove user-generated content that does not comply with the relevant terms and conditions.

7. Personal data of minors

Essentials: We make sure not to process the personal data of minors without specific safeguards, such as the consent of parents or legal guardians when necessary.

Most of our websites are designed and intended for use by adults. When any of our websites is intended for use by a younger audience, we understand the importance of taking additional measures to protect the privacy and safety of minors.

If our websites are intended for a younger audience, in all cases we will honor our external commitments regarding responsible marketing, and we will ensure that before collecting personal data, the valid consent of parents or legal guardians is obtained to the extent required by applicable laws and regulations (the age at which this is necessary varies by country).

Service providers and subcontractors, including those that:

Right to be informed

Right of access and rectification

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, as well as to correct, update or supplement it at any time.

Right to erasure

Right to data portability
